Email Issues

Saturday, May 4th, 2013

Have you tried to contact us? We have recently discovered a major issue with our email due to a setting on Microsoft servers from previous owners of our domain name performancedesign.com. This prevents emails from anyone using a Microsoft hosted exchange platform, Forefront or Office 365 products from getting to us. They are bounced, sometimes without notification. We are working with Microsoft and the prior domain owner to correct this but it is not complete yet. We believe any bounced email is not recoverable. We also have a backlog of emails delayed by another problem and are working through those replies. If you emailed us and never got a response please accept our apologies and reach out to us at our info@performancedesignllc.com address that is not impacted by this issue. Thank you!

Job Opportunities

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

Two upcoming projects are in the planning stages – one would probably be contract direct with a client (greenlighted) and the other would be through Performance Design on a different client project (expected to be a go – but pending confirmation); opportunities may exist to work on both projects.  Both projects are powertrain/engine design in nature and include heavy modifications to existing architecture as well as clean sheet design.  If you or anyone you know might be a good fit please contact me or forward this information to them.  Any references would be much appreciated.

Both projects will last 6 – 12 month and we are looking for someone that can do full time (or close to it) but will probably need extra capacity beyond that and will consider a mixture of talent/schedule availability in case anyone moonlights.   Both are tentatively scheduled to begin in 4-8 weeks.  Most work would probably be completed from your own location/home/office but periodic meetings or off-site work may be required.  Weekly design reviews will occur via Webex or Fuze meetings.

All work will be in SolidWorks 2010.  Candidates must have a good solid modeling base, an understanding of engine components and how they would be manufactured; no training is available in this project.

Requirements:

·         Must have a knowledge of engine components and operation

·         Must understand manufacturing processes and designing for manufacture/assembly

o   Components will consist of castings, forgings, machined

o   Components include all engine parts including block, heads, rotating assembly, accessory drive, etc.

·         Candidate must have experience in operating 3D CAD system and a good modeling workflow (SolidWorks Preferred)

o   Must at least be skilled in solid modeling and be familiar with SolidWorks; expert SolidWorks knowledge a big plus

·         A Non-Disclosure/Non-Compete Agreement must be signed

Additional Info:

·         Telecommuting will be an option, with some on-site meetings/design review

·         Workstation and SolidWorks seat a plus, but not a requirement

·         May require some infrequent domestic travel

·         High quality workmanship may lead to permanent position

Please send:

·         Resume

·         Work examples (SW models/prints preferred or eprt/easm, .pdf or screen shots; do not share confidential data!)

·         Desired pay rate

·         Schedule availability (if not full time)

·         Workstation hardware specs

·         References if available

Published in GM High-Tech Mag

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

The November issue of GM High-Tech Performance features a tech article authored by Caleb Newman covering the subjective topic of “driveability” or “streetability” when increasing performance in a car.  Spanning 10 pages, the article is intended as the first in a series with the second covering software simulation of the 10 camshafts run on the dyno.

There were no winners declared here because the intent is to create an objective guide by which the reader can gauge his subjective feelings of street manners and choose his personal “winner”.

Read the article here.

Fully operational

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

Performance Design is fully operational and offering product design, program management and creative services to companies that don’t have the in-house capacity or expertise. If you need help bringing a new product idea to market, contact us and let us know the challenge you need to meet. We can design the part or system from scratch and bring it from design to prototype to production.

Our philosophy is summarized by simple, elegant design. While form follows function, style is not lost.

Our expertise is especially suited for low to medium volume parts for the aftermarket, racing and niche vehicle manufacture (inlcuding motorcycles, boats and off-road trucks). If you need one proof-of-concept part or 1,000 per year, we can tailor the design to match your volume and manufacturing requirements.

Don’t let the state of the economy negate the fact that to emerge intact on the other side, you must invest in new product and differentiate your company from your competition. Contact us today with your project requirements.
